I would like to thank the Club for their hospitality, my stewards, Hilary Gilpin and Paul Cheeseman for their efficiency and hard work, and the exhibitors for such a super entry: 144 dogs making 191 entries. It was a pleasure to go over so many quality exhibits and in some classes I would have liked to have had more prize cards.
I found all males to be entire, no serious mouth faults and temperaments, almost without exception, to be excellent. The vast majority of those present were spannable but weight was an issue. Some dogs were carrying too much  but much more worrying were those which were far too thin. Dogs with their ribs and pin bones sticking out  and no muscle wouldn’t last very long doing a day’s work.
